A Free Mod That Makes RDR2 Look Next-Gen

On October 26, Red Dead Redemption 2 will celebrate its seventh anniversary, and it's still widely considered one of the most beautiful games ever made. Rockstar Games always goes all out with its visuals, and we expect GTA 6 will do the same next year. However, even with all that power, there's always room for improvement. A new mod on Nexus Mods is the perfect example, making the game even more stunning in unexpected ways.

This mod, called "Catalogue Improvements," was created by iAbokai and Suika with one simple goal: to enhance the player's experience by adding more variety to the wardrobe and reducing visual glitches on many clothes. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece, it still has small flaws, like clothing clipping through other textures or gear floating a little bit in the air.

More Than Just a Fix

This mod fixes these small issues and gives John Marston a completely revamped wardrobe to make him look unique and different from Arthur Morgan. The creators say they "put great importance on John Marston's appearance in the hopes of making him less like Arthur Morgan and more unique." They've restored most of his unused or beta models, including his head models, open jackets, and gear, as well as new hair models.

Thanks to this mod, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can enjoy most of John's outfits from Chapters 1 to 6. Some of Arthur's unused outfits have also been restored. The modders have even brought back a number of hats that Rockstar left out during development and improved horses with proper horseshoes and a scabbard for the rifle.

A Mod with Hidden Surprises

If Red Dead Redemption 2 was already a game with an incredible eye for detail, this mod takes it a step further. It not only fixes small flaws but also restores and adds extra content for players. According to the creators, this is just a small taste of what "Catalogue Improvements" offers, as they want players to discover the rest on their own.

"We have already shown you the most important features of this project, so we simply invite you to enjoy the mod and have a good time," they conclude. This is great news for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players, especially since the mod is completely free. Unfortunately, Rockstar is yet to announce the game's arrival on PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 at the moment.
