Zenless Zone Zero has announced the return of previously released S-Rank agents in Version 1.5, kicking off with Ellen Joe and Qingyi. Characters play a crucial role in HoYoverse’s beloved games like Zenless Zone Zero, and their limited-time availability encourages players to invest money or in-game resources to unlock them.
In contrast to HoYoverse’s other major franchises like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero has not introduced any rerun banners yet, with each update concentrating exclusively on new agents. Fans had high hopes that the much-anticipated Version 1.4 update would bring rerun banners, similar to what Genshin Impact did, but that didn’t materialize. The good news is that HoYoverse has now officially announced that rerun banners for Zenless Zone Zero will be included in the upcoming major game update.
Starting with Version 1.5 of Zenless Zone Zero, players who missed earlier updates or are new to the game will have the opportunity to pull for agents that were released before. The Version 1.5 Special Program has announced that Phase 1 will kick off on January 22, featuring the Ether agent Astra Yao and a special rerun banner for Ellen Joe, who first appeared in Version 1.1. Additionally, this update will introduce Ellen’s Agent Story in Zenless Zone Zero.

Just like earlier updates, Version 1.5 is divided into two phases. The second phase will kick off on February 12, featuring all-new banners. During Phase 2, players can look forward to the introduction of Evelyn Chevalier in Zenless Zone Zero, along with the return of the PubSec Agent, Qingyi, for anyone who didn’t get her in the latter part of Version 1.1. Additionally, both reruns will reintroduce their unique W-Engines, allowing players to equip each character with their signature gear.
In the latest Version 1.5 special program, a rumor about new character outfits for Zenless Zone Zero was confirmed. Following some earlier leaks, HoYoverse shared that three new outfits can be unlocked with this update: “Chandelier” for Astra, “On Campus” for Ellen, and “Cunning Cutie” for Nicole. Excitingly, players can claim the Cunning Cutie outfit for Nicole for free as part of the Day of Brilliant Wishes limited-time event.
