Tatsuya Endou’s Special Drawing For Kiki’s Delivery Service

Kiki’s Delivery Service Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

Tatsuya Endou, the talented creator behind the hit manga Spy X Family, recently unveiled a special illustration to mark the 40th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service. It’s worth mentioning that this celebration is for the original novel by Eiko Kadono, which was published in 1985, rather than the beloved Ghibli film adaptation that came out in 1989.

Tatsuya Endou’s artwork showcases Kiki and her cat Jiji soaring above the city on her broomstick, depicted in his unique style. Kiki bears a striking resemblance to Anya in this illustration.

What is Kiki’s Delivery Service About?

Kiki’s Delivery Service started as a novel by Eiko Kadono, which was published 40 years ago. It later inspired a beloved film created by the renowned Studio Ghibli.

This charming story features Kiki, a witch, and her adorable black cat, Jiji, as they adapt to life in a new town. Kiki launches her very own delivery service, the Witch Delivery Service, and takes to the skies on her trusty broomstick to get the job done.

Spy x Family is an incredibly popular manga created by Tatsuya Endou. It gained significant attention after the release of its first anime season in 2022. The manga originally began in 2019 and continues to be published.

This narrative centers on an unusual family made up of Loid, Yor, and Anya. Loid is a secret agent, Yor is a skilled assassin, and Anya, their adopted child, possesses the extraordinary gift of telepathy. While Loid and Yor remain oblivious to each other’s true identities, Anya is fully aware of everything thanks to her mind-reading skills.

You can read Spy x Family for free on MangaPlus! If you’re interested in the anime, it’s streaming on Crunchyroll.
