Fans Spot Strange Parallels Between Severance’s Lumon and Apple

A fan on the Severance Reddit page shared some intriguing similarities they noticed between Lumon Industries, the biotech company featured in the show, and the tech giant Apple. The user, known as Arteye-Photo, highlighted that both Lumon and Apple share nearly identical addresses. In the second episode of season one, Petey tells Mark that Lumon’s location is 499 Half Loop Rd, which is oddly reminiscent of Apple’s former headquarters at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, California. But that’s just the beginning of the comparisons.

Arteye emphasizes the way Lumon employees view Kier Eagan, the innovative founder and first CEO of Lumon, as a “god-like” figure, much like how many tech enthusiasts idolized Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc. Additionally, a comparison was made between The Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park and the Perpetuity Wing at Lumon, which acts as a museum celebrating Lumon Industries and the values of the Eagan family. A side-by-side image of the buildings of Lumon and Apple was shared to illustrate their strikingly similar circular designs. The show also featured Bell Labs, a former American tech powerhouse now under Nokia, as a stand-in for Lumon’s headquarters, which bears a remarkable resemblance to Apple’s headquarters.

In its upcoming second season, Severance will welcome a host of new cast members. Notable additions include Gwendoline Christie, known for her role in Game of Thrones, as well as Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, Merritt Wever, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannante, John Noble, Ólafur Darri, and Sarah Bock. Initial reviews indicate that this season might outshine the first.
