The much-awaited “final” trailer for the anime adaptation of Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days manga has unveiled the English dub cast just in time for its premiere. The series will be available globally on Netflix starting January 11, with new episodes released every Saturday.

The anime is set to run for two cours, with the second part expected to premiere in July. The announcement for the Sakamoto Days anime adaptation came in May 2024, following speculation about Netflix acquiring this highly anticipated title, which has received great feedback from fans of the source material.

Sakamoto Days is based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, which has been featured in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020 and has been compiled into 20 volumes as of January 2025. This series has gained immense popularity, boasting 7 million copies in circulation. The plot centers around Taro Sakamoto, a once-feared hitman who has traded his dangerous lifestyle for a quiet family life. However, his tranquility is shattered when old foes and former associates come looking for him, some with revenge on their minds. To keep his family safe, Sakamoto must tap into his extraordinary fighting skills while trying to maintain the appearance of a normal life as a married convenience store owner.

The anime is brought to life by the talented team at TMS Entertainment, known for their work on Fruits Basket 2019. Masaki Watanabe, who directed Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, takes the helm as director. The series composition is crafted by Taku Kishimoto, recognized for his work on Haikyuu!!, while character design is handled by Yō Moriyama, who contributed to the eyecatch design in Attack on Titan. Sound design is managed by Jin Aketagawa, and the music is composed by Yuki Hayashi, famous for his work on My Hero Academia. The Japanese voice cast features Tomokazu Sugita as Tarō Sakamoto, Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto, Nao Tōyama as Aoi Sakamoto, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura, and Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang.
