The Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has launched an exciting new set of premium rewards to welcome 2025! Players who sign up for the Premium Pass can look forward to January’s rewards, which feature the fiery duo of Moltres and Charizard.
Since their debut in the 1990s with the Pokemon franchise, Moltres and Charizard have remained top contenders among Fire-type Pokemon. With the launch of exciting new premium content, these iconic characters are set to shine in DeNA’s mobile card battler this month.
According to the latest update in the in-app news section, Pokemon TCG Pocket has introduced exciting new premium rewards for fans of First Gen Fire-type Pokemon. A standout feature is the new Moltres ex promo card, which players can claim upon their first login of the year if they subscribe to the Pokemon TCG Pocket Premium Pass. This card functions just like the existing Moltres EX card from the Genetic Apex series, offering 140 HP, a one-energy Inferno Dance move that allows players to add up to three Fire energy to any of their Pokemon each round, and a three-energy Heat Blast move that inflicts 70 base damage. What makes this promo card special is its fresh artwork, depicting Moltres dramatically flying out of its frame with its beak open in a fierce battle cry.

If you’re a Premium Pass member, you can spend your premium tickets on a fantastic new range of Charizard-themed items in the in-game shop, which can’t be bought with any other in-game currency. This new collection includes a Charizard playmat for 12 premium tickets, Charizard coins and card sleeves for six tickets each, and Charizard covers and backdrops for three tickets each. While Moltres is getting a new promo card in January 2025, it’s not alone! Players can unlock five additional promo cards without spending a dime. The Pokémon TCG Pocket has introduced its Blastoise Drop Event starting January 1, giving players the opportunity to face off against four Water-type decks in solo play for various rewards. Each victory against these decks earns players a Promo-A Vol. 3 pack, featuring new promo versions of Blastoise, Snivy, Eevee, Volcarona, or Cinccino.
