Marvel’s Vision Quest Is Seeing The Return Of One Surprise Villain

The upcoming WandaVision spinoff, Vision Quest, is set to debut on Disney+, and it promises to bring back a villain that Marvel enthusiasts believed was gone for good. Although details about the plot remain scarce, we do know for sure that at least one familiar foe will be making a comeback.

What we know about Vision Quest is that it is set to unfold after the events of WandaVision, where a white “resurrected” Vision battled the original version to liberate Westview from the Scarlet Witch’s magical influence. It is speculated that part of the narrative will focus on Vision’s efforts to recover his memories after Thanos ended his life in Avengers: Infinity War.

Old Iron Man Villain Returns For Vision Quest

Deadline reports that Vision might be going head-to-head with Raza, the villainous terrorist. Faran Tahir is expected to return to the role he made famous in the movie that launched the franchise. Raza last appeared in Iron Man, where he was the leader of the group that held Tony Stark captive, ultimately inspiring Stark to invent the Iron Man suit.

Tahir is an accomplished actor, producer, writer, and director known for his extensive work in science fiction. His film credits include popular titles like Iron Man, Star Trek, and Elysium. He has also made a mark on television, featuring in series such as The Old Man, Syfy’s 12 Monkeys, ABC’s Scandal, Fox’s Prison Break, CW’s Supergirl, CBS’ Criminal Minds, and ABC’s Elementary, as well as sharing scenes with James Spader in The Blacklist.

Regarding Spader, while we don’t have a lot of information about Vision Quest, it seems that some villains who have met their demise will be making an appearance. It has been reported that Spader’s Ultron will be returning in this Disney+ series, but, like Raza, the details of his return and role are still a mystery. Raza was killed by Obadiah Stane in the original Iron Man, who was trying to cover up his plan that led Raza and the 10 Rings to attack Stark. Interestingly, Raza and his gang were supposed to eliminate Tony rather than just capture him. Had they succeeded, Iron Man might never have existed.

Though Raza and his cronies were supposed to kill Tony rather than taking him prisoner. And, of course, if they had listened, Iron Man would never have been born.

Vision Quest has had its fair share of challenges during its development at Disney+, which began in 2022, and it was officially picked up for a series in May. Paul Bettany is set to return as the main character. While we don’t have a confirmed release date yet, the show is expected to arrive on the streaming service in 2026.
