In Fortnite Save the World (StW), the Main Questline offers various missions, including Storm Shield Defense (SSD) missions, which are critical for progressing through the game. These missions occur roughly every tenth quest and offer substantial rewards like V-Bucks, Skill Points, Hero Experience, and Mini Llamas. In the early stages of the game, Storm Shield Defenses appear more frequently, allowing you to rack up rewards simply by advancing through the story. As a bonus, you can ask for assistance in the global chat, where other players will often join you to gain rewards and progress in the “Hold The Door!” challenge.
Unlocking New Areas in the Main Questline
The Main Questline in Save the World is divided into four distinct areas, each with its own set of quests and Storm Shield Defense missions. These areas become accessible after completing a specific number of quests. Across each of the four zones, you will find six Storm Shield Defense missions, each rewarding 100 V-Bucks. In total, by completing the full questline of each area, you can earn 600 V-Bucks. Moreover, as you continue playing, Side Quests for Storm Shield Defense 7, 8, 9, and 10 will become available, with Storm Shield Defense 10 offering 150 V-Bucks, bringing the total to 1,050 V-Bucks per area.
Breakdown of Questline Areas
- Stonewood:
- Consists of 34 quests.
- Storm Shield Defense missions appear in quests 1, 9, 16, 23, 28, and 34.
- Plankerton:
- Contains 51 quests.
- SSD missions are less frequent than in Stonewood but still appear at regular intervals.
- Canny Valley:
- Comprises 81 quests.
- Like Plankerton, SSD missions occur less often.
- Twine Peaks:
- Features 98 quests.
- SSD missions are even less frequent than in the previous areas.
Each area becomes progressively more challenging, but with that comes the potential for greater rewards, including the chance to unlock new mission types, materials, and daily quests.
