After a flurry of leaks and speculation, Intel has officially unveiled its Arrow Lake series of mobile processors at CES 2025. This exciting lineup features five new Core Ultra 200H series mobile chips, six new Core Ultra 200HX series chips, and 12 new Core Ultra 200S series desktop processors, significantly broadening its offerings. Each of these processors is equipped with AI-driven capabilities to enhance performance and provide greater efficiency compared to the last generation.
Intel Core Ultra 200HX and 200H Series Mobile Processors
Aimed at gamers and creators, the Core Ultra 200HX and 200H series feature enhancements in both Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores), plus an integrated neural processing unit (NPU) for AI acceleration and Intel Arc graphics. “These processors deliver exceptional compute and graphics performance, efficiency, and AI features, elevating the laptop experience to unprecedented levels,” stated Josh Newman, Intel’s general manager of Product Marketing and Management.
The Core Ultra 200H series kicks off with the Core Ultra 5 225H, which boasts 14 cores in total, including four P-cores, eight E-cores, and two low-power E-cores. It can reach a boost speed of 4.9 GHz and features integrated Arc graphics that deliver 63 TOPS with seven Xe cores. At the high end, we have the Core Ultra 9 285H, which comes with 16 cores, split into six P-cores, eight E-cores, and two low-power E-cores. This powerful chip can boost up to 5.4 GHz and includes eight Xe cores for its integrated Arc GPU.
High-performance laptops will soon be equipped with the Core Ultra 200HX processors, starting with the Core Ultra 5 235HX. This processor includes six P-cores and eight E-cores, achieving a boost clock speed of 5.1 GHz, but it has only three Xe cores for the integrated GPU. Leading the lineup is the Core Ultra 9 285HX, which features 24 cores, consisting of eight P-cores and 16 E-cores, and can reach a maximum boost clock speed of 5.5 GHz.
Josh Newman, Intel’s General Manager of Product Marketing and Management, stated that these processors, featuring advanced computing and graphics performance along with enhanced efficiency and AI capabilities, will elevate the laptop experience to unprecedented levels.
Intel Core Ultra 200S Desktop Processors
The Core Ultra 200S Arrow Lake desktop processors were first unveiled in October of last year, and now the company has added 12 new models to the lineup, featuring either 65W or 35W power ratings. Aimed at mainstream desktop users, these processors boast configurations of up to eight P-cores and 16 E-cores at the high end. The Core Ultra 9 285 showcases this core setup with a 65W TDP, while the Core Ultra 9 285T maintains the same configuration but operates at a lower 35W TDP. At the entry level, the Core Ultra 5 225F provides six P-cores and four E-cores, also with a 65W TDP, and there’s a 225T variant that runs at 35W.
Intel Arrow Lake Mobile and Desktop CPUs: Price and Availability
Intel has announced that laptops featuring the Core Ultra 200H and U series will hit the market in February 2025, with systems based on the Core Ultra 200HX expected to follow in the first half of the year. In contrast, the 200S series will be available much earlier, as both the 65W and 35W desktop processors, along with OEM systems, are set to launch at various retailers on January 13.
