Players can start upgrading their weapons right from the beginning, which means they won’t have to solely depend on rewards from missions or items dropped by enemies. This guide will help you understand how to upgrade both your weapons and Accessories in Freedom Wars Remastered.

How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered

In Freedom Wars Remastered, players can upgrade their weapons by progressing through the main story until they achieve Level 002 Code Clearance. At this level, CODE 2 Sinners unlock the Facility Management Function through the Personal Responsibility Portal. Here, in the Weapon Development Facility, you can manage all your weapons. To upgrade, you’ll need specific resources and your hard-earned Entitlement Points. However, you can reduce these costs by bringing a Citizen on board. There are different Citizens to choose from, each offering varying discount rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. It may seem complex at first, but it’s quite simple once you get the hang of it.

Before you proceed with an upgrade, you’ll encounter a screen that highlights the changes in your weapon’s stats following the upgrade. The Weapon Development Facility enables players to add Elements and explore Modules and Module Slots. To enhance a weapon to a higher Grade, players must acquire the required permit from the Claim Entitlement tab on the Window of Liberty.

Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?

During the early parts of the main story, most missions don’t yield impressive rewards, particularly regarding high-grade weapons. While Zakka in The Warren sells weapons and combat items, they are mostly limited to Grade Level 1, making upgrades necessary. One of your CODE 3 Exams requires you to acquire higher Grade Development Facility Permits. With these permits, you can upgrade any weapon you choose and donate low-grade weapons discovered in missions to lessen your sentence and gain additional Entitlement Points.

When you complete the first upgrade in the Weapon Development Facility, you’ll earn the “In Search of the Strongest Weapon” trophy/achievement. Plus, there are more achievements related to the upgrade system, which is perfect for trophy collectors. The substantial damage gap between weapons of different Grades inspires players to spend time improving their gear.
