Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Features Detailed by Square Enix

Square Enix has revealed exciting features for the upcoming PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth through a fresh trailer. This highly anticipated title will be available on PC nearly a year after its original launch, and it looks like Square Enix has included a fantastic array of enhancements.

Released in February 2024 as a PS5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth quickly became one of the top-rated games of the year and a strong contender for the coveted Game of the Year award. After its three-month exclusivity period on PS5 ended, there was a surge of interest from PC and Xbox players eager to get their hands on the game. Although an Xbox version of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth appears to be a distant possibility, Square Enix announced last month that PC gamers can look forward to playing it starting January 23, 2025.

Just a few days after unveiling the complete PC requirements for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Square Enix has shared some exciting exclusive features in a new trailer. The game will support up to 4K resolution and 120fps, along with “improved lighting” and “enhanced visuals” specifically for PC. While the exact details of these enhancements are still under wraps, players will have to wait until the game’s release on PC to discover them. Additionally, the PC version will include three graphical presets—Low, Medium, and High—allowing players to adjust settings based on their hardware. There will also be an option to control the number of NPCs displayed on screen, which should help with CPU performance.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Features List

  • Mouse and keyboard support
  • DualSense controller support
  • Support for up to 4K resolution and 120fps
  • Improved lighting and enhanced visuals
  • Three adjustable graphical presets – High, Medium, Low
    • Option to set the number of NPCs on screen
  • Nvidia DLSS

When it comes to input options, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will offer mouse and keyboard support for PC players. If you’re a fan of controllers, you’ll be pleased to know that the PS5’s DualSense will be compatible, featuring haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The PC version will also include Nvidia DLSS support, but the trailer didn’t mention anything about AMD’s FSR upscaling features. This means that players using AMD graphics cards might face some performance challenges while playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

After almost a year of waiting, many PC gamers are thrilled about the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game comes with a strong set of features, making it intriguing to see how it will perform commercially on the PC platform. Square Enix wasn’t overly impressed with the sales speed of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5, so it remains to be seen if they will be pleased with the sales figures for the PC version.
